Is Barack Obama Black Enough?

Recently Toby Keith made some comments about Black people knowing that Obama carries himself like a caucasian. And that the Black community knows inside that he’s carries himself as a white person

Other conservative media hosts have joined Beck in employing this rhetoric. The day after Becks colorless remark, Rush Limbaugh said that Obama should renounce his race and just become white. Extreme conservative talker Melanie Morgan has called Obama a “halfrican†who is not allowed to wear the African-American badge because his family are not the descendants of slaves.Tucker Carlson wondered about Obama, is he black enough?”
I’m sure you’ve heard this question before but I’ll ask anyway, do you think Barack Obama is Black enough (to represent the black community)? Does it matter? If he was “Blacker” would he be where he is right now as a candidate?
I don’t think anyone could be “black enough” to represent the black community. What I mean is that just like a white person can’t make all white people happy, a black person won’t make all black people happy. I think the idea of representing the black community is a crock. One man representing any race of people is not possible in my mind. George Bush does not represent the white community no more than Bill Clinton did. I think both candidates would do better by not mentioning race at all. There is only one color that matters: green. The upper class put on a show every four years where they make it look like the middle and lower classes are in control. No matter who wins, you lose.
The decision really boils down to this: which candidate’s lobbyist will hurt us less.
Simply reading Obama’s “Dreams From My Father” will answer the question “Is he Black enough?”. The book chronicles his coming of age as a black man with all the issues, problems, and situations which confront all Black men in America. Once he was fully grown, on top of that, he deals with his African extended family and ancestry. Yes, he is super Black!
This is the most asinine thought ever! Not the blog, but these people who think he is white. White people just always want to claim someone when they are on top! Obama is black! IF here were not doing such a good job they would be quick to call him a “nigga”. But because he “speaks well” and is “so articulate” he MUST not be black. Horrible. I can’t believe these people are even saying this. What do they want him to do? Coon and sambo? Shine shoes? Get outta here. I don’t act like that. Am I not black?
what does it mean to be black enough? that is just another one of those stereotypes that all black people need to live in ghettos, have a bunch of kids without getting married and just be over all ignorant. there is no such thing as being black enough. thats just another way for black people to turn against one another. no one ever says anything like is that person acting white enough? or mexican enough. i think people should stop worrying whats on the cover and actually read the book.
