Kanye West Glow In The Dark Tour Review

They won’t let you bring cameras to the concert unfortunately. But I’m a sneaky n*gga ya dig, so I got my camera in while other peoples had to check theirs in at the gate. (Will Update with Pictures ASAP) I can’t get my hands on my camera right now but I do have some videos that I took from my phone so read and enjoy the review. Let me know what you think. I was stuntin’ in my anythingBlack tee, so I felt special and exclusive while shamelessly promoting myself. But back to the story.
Well.. I was extremely disappointed that Lupe was the first act. The ticket said 7 and Lupe began his performance at 6:45. Due to Colored People Time I arrived fashionably late. Lupes performance was over and N.E.R.D had began. That really pissed me off because Lupe is currently one of the most talented MC’s out and for them to schedule him before the time the ticket showed was ridiculous and unorganized. More than half the crown in Houston probably missed his performance.
N.E.R.D, led by Pharell was alright and they did a good job of getting the crowd involved in his songs. He had two drummers on stage and was only using mostly the front portion of the stage. Pharell had a lot of energy so even if you didn’t like or know the songs, you were feeling the music. Overall he put on a pretty good show. Unless you are a diehard N.E.R.D fan you can only enjoy it so much.
20 minutes later…
Rihanna came on looking stunning as usual. Although her music was of a different genre then the main attraction, she put on a great show for her fans in the crowd. She performed her most famous songs from Umbrella to Shake It Off. She had a few great background dancers who she used as stage props for a while. Chris Brown was also at the venue although he didn’t perform I heard he was dancing in the background while N.E.R.D was performing. She had a beautiful voice it sounded just as good if not better then if she was in a studio.
30 minutes later…
Finally! What everyone was waiting for….Mr West. I’ve only been to a few concerts in my day but the concept of his performance as a whole was just amazing. It was completely original. No background singers or dancers, just one man, and one mic commanding a huge crowd. He had this little robotic voice that he would interact with called Jane. His entrance was amazing. All the lights went out, the whole area was dark and in the background you could hear the stronger track slowly building up. After that there was a crash and it goes dark again, as it lights up you see Kanye laying on the stage and he starts off with the song, “Good Morning.”
The energy of his concert was just ridiculous. (At one point during Kanyes performance Pharell was standing about 10 feet away from me in the audience. People were so into Kanyes part no one really noticed Pharell at all. I went over there but the bodyguard who was like Shaqs little brother threatened to kick me out. Whatever.)
His performance had everything from fire blasting out of the stage to Kanye being bossy with the tech crew. I loved the way he turned a concert into a storyline and worked all his best songs into that storyline which fit perfectly. To top off Kanyes show he played “Touch the Sky” and Lupe came running on the stage and did his part, which made up partially for what we missed earlier.

I Wonder
Overall it was a great concert and certainly worth putting in a couple extra bucks for seats in the center section. The performers that I did get to see did a great job, and sorry for the quality of my videos, I’ll post better ones ASAP. I won’t spoil it too much for you by over elaborating but I had an amazing time and I’m pretty sure even the people in nosebleed seats did too. Its gonna be hard to top this concert so if you haven’t got a ticket, get one now before its too late.
FLASHING LIGHTS AND ME BEING CREATIVE
Enjoy.

niiiiceeee post!
Did you happen to take any pictures of N*E*R*D while they were performing the song “Lap Dance”??? Im the guy that Pharrell pulled up on stage and performed with him during that song. That was a very exciting moment for me & if you have any pictures or video, I would love to see it. If so, please e-mail me at dariusgeorgecarter@yahoo.com. Thank you.
I just went to that last night and UI was pretty hot about Lupe performing extra early, But yeah great concert all around…
