Obama Opposes Reparations

As is being reported by the AP, Barack Obama has stated once again that he is opposed to giving reparations to the descendants of american slaves. Obama was quoted at a town hall meeting as saying:
“I have said in the past, and I’ll repeat again that the best reparations we can provide are good schools in the inner city and jobs for people who are unemployed,”
This stance is of particular interest on the heels of this story, and as some two dozen members of congress are currently sponsoring a piece of legislation to create a reparations commission. Now to be fair Obama has maintained the same stance on the reparations issue pretty much his entire political career. When asked about this issue he stated:
“I fear that reparations would be an excuse for some to say, ‘We’ve paid our debt,’ and to avoid the much harder work.”
So how do you feel on this issue? Should reparations be paid out? And if so what should they be and who should they go to? Hit up the comments section and let us know what you think…

I’ve got mixed feelings on the whole thing. And you know somebody who had a black great great great great great granny in 1852 is gonna pop up asking for their cut. Aint got one drop left in the DNA, but still is gonna have a hand out. What did Paul Mooney say? “Everybody wants to be a n*gga but nobody wants to be a n*gga.” That’s what this is gonna be about.
But yeah, Obama has a point too. Maybe put that money into our schooling, hiring more police, etc. If it was like $600 check, I’d say donate it to the cause, but if it was like $100k, man…I dunno.
