At around 2:28 seconds the real good stuff comes in! Stick around and watch!

Troy Davis Execution

The decades-long, law-and-order-fueled trend toward restricting appellate avenues in criminal cases may be reaching its gruesome but inevitable conclusion in the case of Troy Davis, a death row inmate who apparently will be executed soon despite a series of post-trial revelations about his lack of culpability that ought to shock the conscience of even the most ardent supports of capital punishment.

Davis, who is black, was charged, tried and convicted in Georgia for murdering a white police officer. He was sentenced to death in 1991. There was no physical evidence linking him to the crime. There was no DNA. There was no murder weapon found on him. Since his trial, seven of the nine main prosecution eyewitnesses against him have recanted their trial testimony. Some of these witnesses claim police coercion or harsh interrogation tactics caused them to be untruthful at trial.

Moreover, a handful of witnesses have stepped forward to claim that another man has confessed to the crime. This “other man,” according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, is one of the two remaining trial witnesses who, not surprisingly, still claims that Davis shot the officer. The final eyewitness (of the nine we are concerned with) initially told the police that he could not identify Davis at the crime scene before later changing his tune at trial and incriminating Davis. Even during this new age of DNA there has been no great movement to resolve these legal and factual conflicts.

How messed up is this? Do you think he should be executed with such a lack of evidence? Does this make you rethink your stance on the death penalty or are you against it to begin with?

Lady Bey is back with a new video for one of her two new singles.

I really like this video, especially the twist at the end!

Ladies and gentelmen, what do you think about the video? And what would you do if you were the opposite sex?

Officials at an upstate elections board were red-faced yesterday after mailing hundreds of absentee ballots offering “Barack Osama” as the Democratic choice for president.

The Rensselaer County Board of Elections recalled 300 ballots that erroneously featured the al Qaeda leader’s name.

“The error was not deliberate, and the Board of Elections is continuing to fairly manage the upcoming general election in a bipartisan and cooperative manner,” Republican Larry Bugbee and Democratic Edward McDonough said.

Bugbee said the ballot had slipped through despite three different proofreaders, according to the Albany Times Union.

So three different proof readers didn’t catch that the candidate’s name being spelled wrong? Honest mistake or not so much, what do you think?

Honest mistake my ass. That’s enough to make a voter say hmmmm at the last second while they’re in booth. That’s some ol’ (fill in the blank)

Diddy takes on Sen. John McCain in his latest vlog entry for referring to Sen. Barack Obama as “that one” during their presidential debate Tuesday in Nashville.

n the video, titled “John McCain Scares Me Even More than Sarah Palin,” Diddy shows the clip of McCain making the dismissive comment, rewinds it several times in disbelief, then cries out, “This is 2008, not 1962!”

People have really turned this two second instance into a big deal. What do you think about McCain’s “that one” comments?

THE FATHER of Ronald Goldman, the man who was killed alongside Nicole Brown Simpson in Los Angeles in 1994, has praised the guilty verdict which could see OJ Simpson jailed for life on robbery and kidnapping charges, writes Denis Staunton

“We’re absolutely thrilled to see the potential that he could serve the rest of his life in jail where the scumbag belongs,” said Fred Goldman.

A Las Vegas jury convicted Simpson on Friday of armed robbery and kidnapping for storming a hotel room with five other men to seize sports memorabilia he claimed had been stolen from him.

Thirteen years to the day after Simpson (61) was acquitted of the murder of his ex-wife and her friend Mr Goldman, the jury found him guilty of 12 charges of armed robbery, conspiracy to kidnap and assault with a deadly weapon.

The armed robbery charges carry a mandatory jail sentence and the kidnapping charge carries a possible term of life imprisonment.

After 13 hours of deliberation, the jury concluded that Simpson had kidnapped two sports memorabilia dealers and held them in a Las Vegas hotel room in September 2007. Simpson had heard that the men were selling memorabilia related to his career as a football star that he claimed they had stolen from him.

Simpson’s lawyer, Yale Galanter, claimed that the trial was unfair because the jury was out to correct what it perceived as his client’s wrongful acquittal for murder 13 years ago.

“This was just payback. They were on an agenda,” Mr Galanter said.

OJ got played. What do y’all think?
