Walgreens and the Election.
Published by imaG June 16th, 2008 in UncategorizedI don’t know how I somehow connected these two events in my mind but they are. Everyone knows Black people love their hair for the most part, men and women alike. So I was in Walgreens getting something from the hair section. I got one product and then proceeded to the check out area. In most Walgreens there is the front/main checkout, and another checkout in the beauty section. In the BEAUTY section you’re supposed to go there mainly if you’re buying beauty products. Well this old white lady decided she’s going to fill her cart to the freaking brim, and get checked out in the beauty section.
Now the short story begins -
The old lady with her cart full to the brim is first up. Behind her is another white lady with 2 items, and behind her, is a Black man, we’ll call him imaG (me) with 1 item. The elderly white lady was so sweet, she realized it would be inconsiderate of her to make us wait, so she told the white lady to go ahead of her. The white lady replied, “Thank you!” all ecstatic and what not. So I figured hey I’ll get to go next! NOT! The old lady turned and looked at me like this…
Darkie!
…AND I’m guessing she saw a Black man and decided in her mind, “fu*k this nigga, his time don’t mean shi*t” and then she told me, “You know YOU should go up to the front!” The checker gave me a look like “just ignore her.” So the old lady took her sweet time getting checked out, and wrote a check instead of using cash to make my wait that much more agonizing. I managed to hold my tongue and not say anything to the old lady after all I figured she didn’t know any better. Common courtesy doesn’t extend past a persons skin color according to her. Oh well…
This is somewhat farfetched but for the Black people in the U.S., would you want someone of her generation to be President? I wouldn’t. So get up and go vote.
The main reason racism still exist today is because parents pass it to their children. They breed racism. I’ve read through a bunch of forums and have seen countless people proclaim, “Hillary better win, otherwise I’m going to vote for McCain, I have a bad feeling about Obama.” I wonder how they feel now that Hillary is backing Obama…Do you think these so called Democrats would really vote Republican to make sure a Black man doesn’t make it to the Oval Office?

I do believe some people are ignorant enough to vote for a candidate primarily based on their race..rather than their capabilities as a leader for our country.
seriously..
why didn’t you follow her out of the store after you had paid just a bit too closely…
i like it when contempt turns to fear…
. I thank you for not ending up another nigga on the news.
but seriously. i would have stepped right in front of her.
How racist and hypocritical are you? To allude that every white person of her generation is a racist is so ignorant. Does that mean all black people born before the Civil Rights Act are racist against white? You’re reasoning is utterly illogical. You say “this is somewhat farfetched but for the Black people in the U.S., would you want someone of her generation to be President? I wouldn’t. So get up and go vote.†That’s one reason why this country is so screwed. Ignorant people like you who vote based on nothing. Vote because you are informed by your own in-depth analysis a candidate is trustworthy in sharing your same beliefs and ideas, not age bracket or generation or race. You claim “The main reason racism still exist today is because parents pass it to their children. They breed racism.†I never knew if you were predisposed to racism that makes you a lifelong racist. If that is the case every white person alive in the US today would be racist because the whole generation (remember you condemned “someone of her generationâ€) would be nothing but racists breeding racists continually. Like Obama’s grandmother. Obama said “I can no more disown [Rev. Wright] than I can my white grandmother [a typical white] –a woman who helped raise me…but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes…” According to your ignorance that would mean Obama hates black people. You asked “Do you think these so called Democrats would really vote Republican to make sure a Black man doesn’t make it to the Oval Office?†Let me ask you, are you Black? Are you a Black Democrat? Why don’t you learn some of your history? Like the democrat /dixiecrat/confederate south fought to keep our people, black people, in slavery while the republican/union fought to free us and white Republican Abraham Lincoln did. Or the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that was introduced and approved by a staggering majority of Republicans in the Senate and opposed by most southern Democrat senators, several of whom were proud segregationists-one of them being Al Gore Sr., democratic ex-vice president Al Gore’s daddy, another racist white person whose “parents pass it to their children…breed[ing] racism”, and “former” KKK member current Democrat Sen. Robert C. Byrd. Democratic party is not the black man’s friend. Black people are always crying racism over everything yet they slave follow the Democrats who have been p*ssing on them their whole history. Get out of the d*mn slave mentality. “A Jew would never after a thousand years vote for a Nazi. Why the hell as a Black person would you be a Democrat after the blatant and proud racism of the Democrats party?†Wake the f**k up Black people.
Wall-O Text. And I don’t think every white person in that generation is racist at all. I’ve taken care of older patients who said they are voting for Obama.
